Tales from Topographic Art

Looking at Laura Sallade and Mary Edna Fraser (as well as the US Geographical Survey and a smattering of a few other related images).

These women make incredible shapes out of light and color blocks with some pretty interesting materiality and dimensionality too.

Lots to explore here with light, shadow, layering, different types/textures/patterns of fabric (or not-fabric), and perhaps more string.
